Mark has written on cricket and rugby for The Times since 1998 and is a former cricket correspondent of the Press Association, for whom he worked for 13 years. He is the author of a number of books, including The History of the Cricket World Cup, The Ashes' Strangest Moments and Ian Botham, my illustrated life. Mark has worked in public relations, representing companies as diverse as Laureus, npower, Alfred Dunhill and Benson and Hedges. He has also edited England's Test match and ODI programmes on behalf of the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Pat Gibson has been writing about cricket for more than 40 years. He was cricket correspondent for both the Daily Express and the Sunday Express and has written for The Times for the past 16 years. He served his apprenticeship with the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph and worked for the Grimsby Evening Telegraph, the Yorkshire Post, the Nottingham Evening Post and the Daily Mail before joining the Daily Express in 1970. He has written books with Jim Laker, John Lever, John Emburey, Bob Willis and Mike Atherton and co-edited Summers Will Never Be The Same with Christopher Martin-Jenkins.

From 1993, Mark worked for 16 years as chief cricket writer for the Kent Messenger Group of Newspapers, joining the paper after a four-year apprenticeship in weekly newspapers as a court and sports reporter. He has covered a range of sports, including top-flight football and golf, and has contributed regularly to the Wisden Cricketer magazine, the Sunday Times, the Sunday Telegraph and the Sunday Express, besides writing on all matters Kent cricket for the Wisden Cricketers' Almanack since 1994.

He has regularly covered Premiership football, Wimbledon tennis, Formula One motor racing, world championship boxing and many other sports. His passion, however, is Sussex cricket: he is the co-author of two best-selling books on the county's modern-day successes, The Longest Journey and The Flight of the Martlets, and he reports cricket and motor racing for The Guardian.
